Workplace Series: Lawyer Up! Fashion Laws to Never Break
Like it or not, rules are still rules! Going to court and meeting clients requires you to look professional and proper at all times so read on to make sure you’re not committing any fashion crimes. Order in the court!
Law #1
Thou Shall Follow The Knee-Length Rule
Widely known, sparingly followed. We all know this ladies, no mini skirts or shorts! A pencil skirt or a midi skirt will do you justice. If you’re feel this is unfair (why only females?!), trust us, men shouldn’t wear beach pants or khaki shorts to work too. Justice prevails!

Law #2
Thou Shall Cover Your Shoulders
Which really means, no spaghetti straps or off-shoulder tops. If you must absolutely wear one, throw on a fitting blazer. They make you look professional and ready to kick some butt!

Thou Shall Keep The Casual To A Minimum
We get it: you’re not feeling too well from the late night the day before and just don’t feel like dressing up, but unfortunately sweatpants or baggy tees are still a no-no! Put on a shirt dress (they flatter any body shape) or a simple blouse with culottes instead for a comfy yet office-appropriate get-up.

Law #4
Thou Shall Wear The Right Heels
Heels gives your outfit an instant lift, and they make you more confident! BUT, there are appropriate and not-so appropriate heels. Avoid strappy heels or anything that glitters and sparkles. When in doubt, black pumps are your best bet. If heels just aren’t you, covered flats work too.

Thou Shall Be Moderate With Colours & Prints
They’re definitely allowed, but in moderation. Balance it out! If you want to wear a printed skirt, wear a crisp white blouse. Bright coloured top? You know the drill.
